What does Greetings for Healing do?
Greetings for Healing enables volunteers to send digitally made cards to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of violence. These cards are made using Google Slides, where volunteers can create and decorate their cards by writing positive messages and adding uplifting images. These digital cards are then sent to victim advocacy facilities that can print and distribute the cards to their clients or use them as positive reminders around the facility.
Why is this important?
Surviving crime, abuse, or violence can cause numerous struggles for a victim, such as trauma, loss, anxiety, and stress. Although the volunteer-made messages from Greetings for Healing do not solve these victims' problems or reverse what they have been through, these kind words can bring hope and joy to these individuals and remind them that they are not alone as they heal from what they have faced.
